How does an oil-free moisturizer work?
It uses non-oil ingredients to deliver the same benefit as oils: it occludes the skin to seal in moisture, forming a barrier that prevents water from evaporating. Some people are looking for formulas that do not contain specific ingredients, like mineral oil. Other people feel that products containing oils are too heavy or greasy for their skin. An oil free formulation is intended to solve that problem.
